MacCarthy's Bar

MacCarthy's Bar features in the 2013 film documentary, 'The Irish Pub', a charming and eloquent celebration of traditional Irish pubs and the people who run them. 

    In the film, Adrienne MacCarthy tells the remarkable story of the Japanese ceremonial sword that her father, Dr Aidan MacCarthy, brought home from the Second World War.

     'The Irish Pub' was directed and produced by Alex Fegan who, with a 'zero production budget' travelled around Ireland and chatted to owners whose pubs had been in their families for generations. The film gained rave reviews from critics.
